Owners Kip Wood and Fritzi Horstman started
Taj Taj 4 years ago after a trip to India ignited their passion for gemstones
and gold. At first importing designs from Jaipur, Taj Taj soon branched out on
its own, feeling the artistic pull to do its own thing. Now known for its
intricate wire work, beautiful stones, and Irish linen use, Taj Taj has
developed a loyal following with customers who care about handcrafted jewelry
made with detail, attention and love.
Lead designer Carmen Plumb has an eye for
balance and detail that is evident in her simple, organic, intricate designs.
Fellow designer Laura Santiago adds her own flair with ingenious and creative
wire wrapping. The production team is held together by production manager
Melissa Little, and anchored by our two newest recruits, Selena Martino and
Kathryn Poteet.
Taj Taj is based in Venice, California, at the
home studio of Kip and Fritzi and their young son Conrad. The surrounding
gardens, constant sunshine, and sound of the rolling ocean just a few blocks
away, keep the attitudes and designs fresh, unique and inspired.

14kt gold fill jewelry can be cleaned when
it tarnishes with any simple jewelry cleaner. We recommend finding a
non-toxic liquid on the internet and using that. Instead of letting your
jewelry get overly tarnished and then trying to return it to its pristine
state, we find that gold fill jewelry keeps its look better if you care for
it consistently.

The waxed Irish linen in many of our
designs is very strong and durable. It does not, however, like water. If you
consistently get it wet, it will substantially shorten the life of the
piece. It is best not to shower or swim with the linen jewelry on.
