More than twenty years ago, Isaac Manevitz, the son of a fabled jeweler for Egypt's royal family, began lavishing his energy, knowledge and life-long love affair with jewelry into an exquisite line of designer fashion jewelry called Ben-Amun.
Pronounced ben-AH-moon, the company is named after the designer's eldest son (Ben), and the King of Egypt (Isaac's homeland) named Tutankhamun. Soon after its inception, Ben-Amun fever spread quickly. Isaac's signature creations became a favorite among top fashion editors, who frequently showcased his dazzling designs on the covers and pages of publications such as Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Mirabella,
Marie Claire, Essence, and Mademoiselle, to name a few.
Since the early days of Ben-Amun, Isaac Manevitz has been known for his innovative use of unusual material to create his very distinctive designs. His ability to manipulate and transform pewter, Lucite and glass into works of art are evidence of his formal training in sculpture at Brooklyn College, where he earned his degree.
Since its inception, Ben-Amun has established a tradition of creating distinctive jewelry that combines an unexpected mix of the finest materials. Ben-Amun's timeless designs continue to be favorites among discriminating women of all ages.
Their showroom (not open to the public) is located adjacent to the Manhattan factory in which all of Ben-Amun creations are put together under the watchful eye of its creator, Isaac Manevitz.
