Misha was born and trained in the former Soviet Union. After honing his design skills at the Odessa School or Art, he came to America in 1990. Specializing in the challenging enamel processing methods in which he was trained, he immediately began working for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum Collection Catalog, reproducing famous and intricate Faberge Egg designs. He soon became creating original jewellery, eventually opening a retail store to market his line in New York's Greenwich Village.
